Partners in Conservation

Here at Haring Ibon and Birds in Focus, Inc., we have partnered with several conservation organizations across the Philippines with several projects and products over the years. We have grown together to establish a strong network of biodiversity conservation, and we want to showcase several of our partners as it is our commitment to supporting environmental protection and the conservation of Philippine natural resources as part of our advocacy and corporate social responsibility.

Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc.

The Tawi-Tawi Biodiversity Conservation Project or TAWSI Project was initiated by the municipal government of Panglima Sugala in 2017 in collaboration with the Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation Inc.It aims to conserve the remaining forest habitats and biodiversity in the Sulu and Tawi-tawi Archipelago. The project headlines the critically endangered endemic Sulu Hornbill (Anthracoceros montani) locally known as Tawsi as its flagship species. Through our publication, Endangered Bird Species of the Philippines, our partnership included the addition of the Sulu Hornbill as one of the species featured in the book.

Buhay-ilang Research, Education and Conservation

The ORIS project is run by the Buhay-ilang Research, Education and Conservation (Buhay-ilang). It aims to study the ecology and population status of the Isabela Oriole (Oriolus isabellae) by working with the local community to protect the species from extinction. ORIS is a contraction of the scientific name Oriolus isabellae. The project traces its beginnings in 2004, when two birdwatchers discovered a population of the extremely rare species in Isabela province and for the first time recorded its call and made notes on its ecology. Through our publication, Endangered Bird Species of the Philippines, our partnership included the addition of the Isabela Oriole as one of the species featured in the book.
